Calochortus

A small group of West Coast bulbs native from British Columbia to Northern Mexico. Known by a variety of common names; Mariposa Lily, Sego Lily, Star tulip, Fairy lanterns and Cats ear; these showy plants are worth growing in most gardens. The majority of Calochortus like light shade, excellent drainage and very dry conditions in the summer while dormant. If you don't have a dry location, you can plant in a bulb frame or lift the bulbs in the summer and re-plant in late November. We plan to have a larger selection in the future, but presently, numbers are small. The best time to order Calochortus is for late fall shipping, although they will be available potted in Spring at one bulb per pot. Calochortus is a naturally small bulb.

Calochortus are available in the Fall 2020 only order in 2019 on a separate order.
